Donor advised funds (DAF)

How to make a gift through your donor-advised fund (DAF).

A DAF works like a charitable savings account where you set money aside for giving, receive an immediate tax deduction, and recommend grants to your favorite nonprofits over time.

If you have a Donor-Advised Fund, you can recommend a gift to:
Del Mar Schools Education Foundation (DMSEF)” using our
Foundation’s Tax ID Number: 33-0925945

How To Open A DAF:

Consider talking to your financial advisor if you think opening a DAF could benefit your financial giving.

DAFs are a charitable giving account that allows donors to make a contribution, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants to nonprofits over time. Anyone can open a DAF!

With a DAF, you can:
• Consolidate all your charitable contributions into one giving account
• Receive an immediate tax deduction in the year you contribute to your DAF
• Avoid tracking multiple receipts: you only need one for your DAF contribution
• Support causes you care about:  now or over time
• Bunch contributions: you can combine multiple years’ worth of donations into one year to exceed the standard deduction threshold.
