Dear DMUSD Parents,
I would like to express my sincere appreciation to you and the Del Mar Schools Education Foundation (DMSEF) for your support of the Extended Studies Curriculum (ESC) program. Your contributions provide our students with rich, robust educational programs that would otherwise be unavailable to them.
The DMSEF is a nonprofit organization of volunteer parents and community leaders committed to raising funds to support our eight schools. Funds raised with your contributions aid the District in paying for our Extended Studies Curriculum classes, which are taught by teachers who specialize in five main subject areas, including ART, MUSIC, PHYSICAL EDUCATION, SCIENCE, and TECHNOLOGY. ESC teachers are credentialed specialists who work together with classroom teachers to enhance the core curriculum and provide students with opportunities to learn through exploration, experimentation, and creativity. Through ESC, students develop problem-solving skills, teamwork, and gain exposure to the fine arts above and beyond the classroom experience. ESC classes are the perfect combination of conceptually based hands-on instruction with opportunities for learning extending beyond the classroom. Without the ongoing contributions of our parents and community through the DMSEF, our robust ESC program would not exist.
Every school in the Del Mar Union School District is fortunate to have a high-quality, vibrant ESC program as a result of community support and a strong partnership with the Del Mar Schools Education Foundation (DMSEF). Our ESC programs are highly valued and embraced by our children, and these programs are an important part of our district’s mission to provide a nurturing, inspiring, and rigorous educational program for each student.
We ask for your help in realizing our commitment to providing a world-class education for your child. The DMSEF’s Annual Fund Drive goal is 100% participation. Please give what you can…every contribution will get us one step closer and will make a difference in the education in our District.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Holly McClurg, Ph.D.
