Dear Parents,

As many of you are aware, the Del Mar Schools Education Foundation (DMSEF) was created to support the funding of salaries for teachers who teach the following subjects. Science, Music, Art, Technology, and Physical Education.

The aforementioned subjects are known as the Extended Studies Curriculum (ESC). ESC provides a diversity of learning experiences for all of our children in the Del Mar Union Schools and subsequently enhances the top-tier educational standing that we have all come to enjoy and, of course, expect in our District.

To secure our goal of funding the salaries for those who teach the ESC subjects, we are asking for an $800 tax-deductible contribution for each enrolled child. This request breaks down to a little more than $20 per week during this school year for your child. We must remember that this will enable our children to continue to have Science, Music, Art, Technology, and Physical Education taught by credentialed teachers. As we have in the past, we are requesting 100% participation from all parents, which is greatly appreciated. Let us all embrace the fact that every contribution assists us in securing our goal of funding the ESC program at all eight schools in the Del Mar Union School District.

As we prepare for the commencement of another great school year, it is an excellent time to set up a monthly payment schedule. All you need to do is to go to DMSEF.org. Once at the site, please select an amount that works best for your respective budget.

Also, there are additional ways to contribute:

  • Utilize the attached envelope to submit a tax-deductible contribution.
  • Go to DMSEF.org to place a one-time contribution online.
  • Take advantage of matching contributions from your employer.

I cannot think of a more significant investment that any of us could possibly make.

Yours in the Del Mar School District,

Ty Humes
Del Mar Schools Education Foundation President,
On behalf of the Del Mar Schools Education Foundation Board of Directors
